Our History

Paperchine’s history is rooted in Manchester England when JWI Group began as Manchester Wire Works in 1790. Since then, the JWI Group moved to North America, became JohnsonFoils and merged with Asten Manufacturing in 1999 to become AstenJohnson.

Pre-merger Paperchine, Inc. began as a vision shared by four former Beloit Corporation executives who were determined to establish a U.S. based company composed of top professionals dedicated to the paper industry. The company was formed in March 2000, and has successfully grown to its present state today. The merger between JohnsonFoils and Paperchine allows us to offer our customers a full range of paper machine products, from headbox to winder. Our extensive knowledge and engineering expertise ensure the ability to provide custom solutions for paper mills around the world.
